Scratching Words on Stones - Noosa Rock Pools

Have you been to Noosa National Park lately?

 We have.
Especially fun with friends.

 Perhaps you found some stones,

that were put there purely for the enjoyment

of those who came upon them.

 Maybe that was you?
We hope so.

# As a little aside, I wonder if these stones might be a sweet gift children could
make for Mothers Day or Fathers Day
Perhaps a painted version would have more permancy.
Even drawings by children not yet writing words.
Natural and a little different.
I don't know about you, but I like that! *wink*

Wooden arch Gnome hollows for open-ended play and a natural world of wonder.

Our little ones naturally posses the imagination.
We often need not provide a thing to encourage it.
But sometimes, it's fun to,
with an open-ended toy.

These are Gnome Hollows...
I put these in my etsy store when I can.
However they do sell out quite quickly.

Providing a prop for open-ended, imaginative play,
they really are a gorgeous addition to any play corner.
Indoors or Out.

Door & Window arches for magical open-ended play. Wood burning. Water colour paint. Waldorf.

What is through the doorway?
Open it,
peek through,
to find a magical world of wonder.

These are Magical Doorways...

As almost completely designed, by my youngest - Little Pipkin
So far all have been sold on sight.
I hope to make more for my etsy store...
one day soon.

Here I am.
Well, here my hands are...
Hinterland Mama in action.

Peg doll birthday gifts - Custom orders for little people

I have been busy working away on peg doll people.
Spending my time being creative.
Dressing small wooden folk.

As always, hand-made produces One Of A Kind
and being creative proves
such a delight.

Bejewelled King and Queen, in pastels.

 Nature Gnomes.
 Fanciful Flower Faeries.

More simple King and Queen, with embroidered cloaks.

 Wilderness Elves, note the ears...

Noble Knights, with a surprise...
"Joan de Arc style,
a female is revealed amongst
the brave and honourable."

From 16th August... 10 day “Once Upon A Time” exhibition and workshop event in Brisbane!

I have a little treat to let you know about.
If you're going to be in Brisbane from the 16th August,
did you know there is going to be a most gorgeous
Exhibition & aligned Workshops?
You can take your family along for free and get lost within
the delicious combination of art and wonder...

"elf", needle felted by mama, fibre artist and creator of zuzu&me
will be leaving his home next week for a 10-day Brisbane art exhibition not to be missed.

'Once upon a time - reinterpreting the fairy tale' will bring together
30 local illustrators, fibre artists, painters and sculptors.
Arzu says,
"I'm so thrilled and honoured to have been selected to take part in this art exhibition and run two workshops. sharing the gentle art of my felt work through workshops and kits feels very natural to me, and it's so satisfying to see people overcome their fears around being creative. my world of gnomes and fairies feels very at home here in our beautiful Steiner-influenced community. it's funny to think of all my little guys trekking down to the big city for something as formal as an art exhibition"
The opening night is next Friday from 6pm in aid of the
Make-a-Wish Foundation and it's free to enter.
Enjoy an evening of wine, art and fairy tale magic or let your creative juices flow in one of their fabulous workshops - suitable for children as well as adults.
Here is the list of all workshops on offer.
among them is a chance to learn how to make beautiful floating fleece fairies or a needle felted toadstool sculpture in a terracotta dish with zuzu&me ~ but places are limited. please contact Arzu on zuzuandme (at) gmail (com). and for a sneak preview of some of the pieces she is exhibiting and that will be for sale, visit zuzu&me's facebook page.
The event will run for ten days from the opening night on Aug 16th and will be open from 10-4pm daily at the Art & Design Precinct, 10 Bailey St, West End, Brisbane.
