Cooking with Kids - Summer Milkshake Iceblock Milk

My little ones LOVE to be let loose 'all by themselves' in the kitchen.
At age 4 and 6 they really are capable, but I still keep a watchful eye...
Sharp knives, balancing on chairs and electricity all play their part in keeping this Mama nearby.

Today we made milkshakes.

Little Pipkin's Watermelon / Strawberry Mix
1/8th small watermelon (seeded), 250g punnet strawberries, 2T natural yoghurt, 1/4 cup milk, 1t maple syrup (optional - take a taste test! )
Blend until smooth.

Mr Turtle's Mango / Banana mix
1 mango, 2 bananas, 2T sheeps yoghurt, 1/4 cup goat's milk.
Blend until smooth!

Drink as much as you can, then freeze the leftovers to make iceblocks, for future enjoyment on hot summer afternoons...

  1. Ooh how delicious! Your budding chefs look very capable indeed.

  2. I so want one of those they look yummy, love the life skills the children are learning :)

  3. Awesome! We LOVE freezing left overs from our smoothies/juices as iceblocks for later! Yum! - Great combos from your kids too! :-)
