Making Hula Hoops

Garden reticulation pipe

Cut to size

Correct sized joiner
A single marble popped inside to maintain momentum
(for those of us not too experienced at the twirling of a plastic hoop around
our hips ~ this step helps keep the hoop 'Up'!)

Close both ends of the hoop around the join
Cover the entire hoop with electrical tape.
So 1. it's no longer black!
and 2. the join is covered
Add some Bling!
Little fingers may able to help with this

Ready to take for a spin!

  1. Oh my goodness!

  2. I hope you don't mind me linking back here to this tute on my blog!
    Thanks for sharing :)

  3. WOW that is awesome!! I popped over her from Lusi's blog, how COOL, you are super clever.

  4. Hi Lusi!
Thanks so much for linking my tute ~ you're more than welcome to anytime.
I had a peek at your beautiful blog - what a gorgeous family you have.
Thanks for popping over, you are always welcome ☼

  5. Hi Lee!
Lovely of you to say...though have a go...they're quite simple really ღ

  6. I love this! This would be a great idea for a spring birthday party.

  7. What a great idea! Love the marble trick, I would definitely need that :)

  8. I would say it took less than an hour to create a couple of hula hoops, with my little guys helping. So I agree, a Hula Hoop making party would work well!

  9. Thanks for popping over Sunshine Mama! I spoke to several talented Mamas before we 'tried this at home'. One of them was a gymnast who gave me the marble trick. It works well for me (I need it too!)

  10. Oh my goodness, who knew this was so simple?! Thanks for the tutorial. Yours look great!

  11. Thank you Dionne. It really is simple, fun and rewarding ღ

  12. This is awesome! And I've been tossing up whether to buy a hula hoop but htey're always so awkward to bring home from the shops with two kids! I think we have what we need to make these! :) Thanks for sharing!
